Opinion | Syria as a post office for American-Israeli messages to Iran

Despite the violence of the recent Israeli missile strikes on Iranian sites in Syria’s Misyaf and elsewhere and the exchange of missile messages between Iran and the American forces in eastern Deir Ezzor, I do not count on these military operations and activities to change or modify the Iranian strategy in Syria. This conclusion is based on my analysis of American and Israeli handling of the Iranian file in Syria.

Iran was able within a short period of time to inflict a massive demographic change, recruiting thousands of Shia Afghans, Pakistanis and other nationalities, and getting them settled in specific areas

Iran has occupied Syria for two goals: military and settlementary, so to speak. Iran was able within a short period of time to inflict a massive demographic change, recruiting thousands of Shia Afghans, Pakistanis and other nationalities, and getting them settled in specific areas of human gatherings that had previously been emptied of their native inhabitants, in addition to polarizing the Alawite sect and buying the loyalty of other sects, including the Sunni Muslim regime-created official symbols, the Christian sects, and their priests who were silent about Iran’s blatant interference at the heart of moderate religious and ideological life, in favor of an extremism of strange appearance and content, capable of  swallowing everyone who stands in the face of its backward project.

The value of the Israeli strikes is political: to pressure Iran to sign a nuclear agreement

Saad Fansa

So, when the conscious Syrians say that the Syria we know has changed and ended, they are right to see their future and their children’s collapsing in front of their eyes. And the most important thing is that all this was done with the approval of the American-Israeli half-declared and semi-secret approval.

The value of the Israeli strikes is political: to pressure Khamenei and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to sign a nuclear agreement with the United States of America as they have no military value except within the limits of protecting Israel’s security from any possible missile attack by Hezbollah or its allied forces in Syria.

I believe that all these showy Israeli military actions in Syria have no real military value

Saad Fansa

I believe that all these showy Israeli military actions in Syria have no real military value, except that the nuclear agreement with Tehran is imminent. It could be even before the next elections in the American Congress this autumn. Therefore, the sick White House man, who has been dormant for a period of time, was enthusiastic about moving the agreement that he is counting on, and is opposed by a good number of American elites in the American decision-making circles, especially some prominent Republican Party members and quite a few senior Pentagon leaders.

I look at the operation of storming the headquarters of former President Donald Trump and extracting important documents on nuclear intelligence that were said to be very sensitive and directly relate to the nerves of US national security as a deed relevant to what is happening today. From this, we can notice how deep is the conflict between the wings of the American polar powers.

Although all what we can do is to wait and see, one thing is certain: Everything will go against the interests of Syrians whose country has turned into a playground in which regional and international powers wage their dirty wars.
